THE MOONSOUND!
Moonsound is the name of the cartridge that includes theYamaha OPL4 soundchip. The OPL4 has two parts: FM syntetizer (OPL3) and PCM syntesizer (used by PC's computers and knowed as Wave Table Syntesis). The
characteristics of this cartridge are:
FM
- Upto eighteen 2-Operator FM channels or fifteen FM channels with five drum sounds
- Upto six 4-Operator FM channels (together with another six 2-Operator channels)
- Eight different waveforms
- Possibility to specifiy right, left or both for each channel
PCM
- Upto 24 waves simultaneously! (this means 24 channels)
- Replayfrequency of 44.1 kHz
- 8, 12 or 16 bits wavedata
- Stereo signal in 16 positions for each channel
